The Pyhrn-Priel holiday region with its two very attractive valleys Stoder Valley and Garstner Valley offer a variety of diverse hiking possibilities.
Themed hikes around the historical formation of the valleys - e.g. the 'Million Path' (geological nature trail) - the 'Provisions Path' (the supply path to the mountain huts) - the 'Flötzer Climb' (timber industry in the valleys) - the 'Fairy Tale Rubbings Path' for families (legends and tales from the Stoder Valley) - the 'Water Nature Trail', the Dr. Vogelgesang Gorge, around the Gleinkersee Lake, Piessling Spring, along the river Steyr.... etc., offer a deep insight into local tradition and historical development in the region.
A multitude of mountain huts open to the public with local farm delicacies, numerous refuges and worthwhile peaks make the region into a secret tip amongst hikers, who are truly looking for extraordinary natural beauty and unspoilt nature. This is one of the reasons, why a large part of the region has been declared the National Park Region KALKALPEN.
A uniform system of footpath signposting and a variety of guided hikes - also through the National Park - and a special programme with numerous accommodation properties, guarantee a promising hiking holiday.
