Rosenau am Hengstpass is situated in the Kalpalpen National Park and offers its visitors relaxation and sports. The stunning scenery connects the Valley of Windischgarsten with the Enns Valley in the neighbouring province of Styria. Extensive snow shoe hikes or ski tours through the untouched winter landscape leave you with lasting memories. For speed and fun there is also a 1. 3 km long natural taboggan track. Fitness lovers will enjoy the Biathlon Centre of Innerrosenau. The area is snow secure from December to April and offers 25 km of well prepared cross country trails in both the classical and the skating style. Many international events like the Biathlon-Europe Cup or the Austrian Husky Cup have given this centre a well known name. The local restaurant Maurerwirt situated in the centre of Rosenau am Hengstpass is situated at the finish of the 1,3 km long taboggan track which starts at the mountain restaurant Zottensberg in Edlbach. The trail is open day and night and not only a fun family event but also well suited for competitions The small village is not situated directly in the ski area but offers a regular ski bus system. |
