| Top | | | Spital am Pyhrn is a resort full of tradition. It was here in the Ramesch caves that the oldest traces of settlements were found. In 1190 Bischop Otto II von Bamberg founded the Hospital am Pyhrn at the nearest largest farm to the Pyhrn Pass. In 1418 the Hospital was converted into a monastery for choir monchs. Thus a large cultural development began.
