Best prepared cross country trails have been standard for years and the same interests as in alpine skiing apply here – diversity and a beautiful landscape make up the essence of the experience. The Pyhrn-Priel holiday region offers a unique and unmistakable landscape. Surrounded by majestic peaks of the Tote Gebirge mountain range and the Kalkalpen National Park there are 120km of prepared cross country trails at your disposal, running on four different levels of altitude from 600 – 1.400m above sea level. Be it classic or skating style – run in whichever style suits you best.

The high altitude trails of Oberweng and in the ski areas of Höss and Wurzeralm offer the most beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding alpine scenery and are suitable for both beginners and advanced cross country skiers. The trails running through the valleys run past many huts and country inns, inviting you to a welcome rest. Furthermore there is the Cross Country and Biathlone Centre Innerrosenau in Rosenau am Hengstpaß - the competence centre for nordic winter sports.

Regional Cross Country Season Ticket
In the winter season of 2011/2012 there is a regional cross country season ticket at your disposal, including all valley trails in Hinterstoder, Windischgarsten, Roßleithen, Edlbach, the Cross Country and Biathlone Centre Innerrosenau and Spital am Pyhrn as well as the high altitude trail in Oberweng. The ticket is sold and issued by the tourist offices of Windischgarsten, Spital am Pyhrn and Hinterstoder at a cost of € 40,-- and is valid up to 9. April 2012 (subject to snow conditions).

At the following trails, the day ticket costs uniform € 3,- (kids till 15 years and handicapped people excepted):

Skidoo Trails:
