The Pyhrn-Priel Holiday Region has a lot to offer for horse lovers! Marked riding trails at the Kalkalpen National Park and many idyllic riding paths through the valley and along soft rolling alpine meadows invite you to explore the area by horse.
Day excursions including overnight stays, meals and drinks, either on your own or a rented horse, a horse riding hiking badge, luggage transfer and a qualified guide ensure a well organised experience in true wildwest romantic style.
For the not so experienced, there are many classes available to improve your riding ability, be it riding on a pony, basic lessons or Western style. Well trained riding guides and instructors are at your disposal for both beginners and advanced riders.
From the age of four, children can learn how to handle a horse in a playful manner. The true romantic will not want to miss a ride in a horse drawn carriage through the countryside.
There is a wide spectrum of breeds in this area – Miniature Ponies, Haflinger, Shire Horses, Connemaras, Huzulen and colourful Western Horses as well as noble Thoroughbreds. Riding Farms and horse friendly establishments offer board and lodging for horse and rider. Many huts have attuned themselves to riding guests. If you prefer a touch of adventure in the wilderness, there are adapted bivouac places where you can sleep outside by the campfire.
