Versatile sportive and cultural offers
Away from the noise of everyday life yet full of variety - a wide range of sportive and cultural offers set the tone in the region that “captures the mountains”. Nearly 600 km of marked hiking trails in all levels of difficulty, ranging from easy walks to highly demanding alpine climbs are on offer in the region comprising 9 municipal areas.
Golfers can practise their “hole in one” at the 18 hole Golf Course Windischgarsten Pyhrn-Priel, inspiring both beginners and experienced golfers. Horse riders can enjoy a true eldorado feeling including campfires and explore the area on the partly marked and highly idyllic riding trails. Mountain and leisure bikers are also well catered for with trails ranging from easy family to difficult alpine trails, all ensuring superb views. For more action, try out rafting, canoeing, canyoning or paragliding. Speedy fun is guaranteed on our Alpine Coaster, a cool roller coaster down the mountain with steep turns, twists, jumps and waves as well as Europe’s longest summer tobogganing track. On the cultural side there are a range of museums designed in a lively manner and numerous events to ensure plenty of fun and relaxation! Make use of the free Pyhrn-Priel ActiveCard offering over 40 free and 20 reduced services from the middle of May to the beginning of October!
