National Park Panorama Tower Wurbauerkogel –
21 peaks of 2000 m altitude in a glanc

The national park visitors centre at the Wurbauerkogel impresses with ist unique panorama tower and the exhibition „Fascination Rock“ is definately worth seeing – now also barrier-free!

The Wurbauerkogel at the national park municipality Rosenau am Hengstpaß has a new attraction.

Enjoy a fantastic circular view to the surrounding alpine panorama from a 21 m and six storey high tower. 21 peaks above 2000m of altitude and a range of further mountain tops can be seen on clear days: from the Upper Austrian Pre-Alps to the mountain ranges of Sengsengebirge, Reichraminger Hintergebirge and the Haller Mauern to the Tote Gebirge, Warscheneck and Gesäuse.

Some reckon that the view from the Wurbauerkogel itself is enough, but see for yourself: from various levels in the tower, the perspective changes and opens views otherwise not possible. Descriptions are offered to assist in identifying the individual peaks. The top level leads out into the open and you are welcome to sign into the guestbook.

Exhibition Fascination Rock
There is much to explore in the habitat of the Alps. The exhibition “Fascination Rock” presents interesting and unique factors from the alpine fauna and flora on 150m² of exhibition area.

A paradise made of stone
The exhibition includes a 15 minute film presenting the Kalkalpen National Park in all its splendour, showing spectacular air and fast motion shots in high quality.
