Originally founded during the 14th century as a convent for nuns and populated by Cistercian priests from the Rhein Monastery in 1620.

Since 1924, monks have produced exceptional specialties at this traditional cheesery. Since 1995, you can actually watch as they go about their work in the first cheese dairy to open its doors to the public. After your visit, the “Enjoyment Centre” invites you to sample and purchase their products. In addition, the stained-glass workshop provides insights into yet another traditional craft.
