National Park Panorama Tower Wurbauerkogel

The 21m high viewing tower at the Wurbauerkogel offers a breathtaking panoramic view to the surrounding alpine peaks and the Windischarstner valley.

The exhibition "Fascination Rock“ presents extraordinary and champion-like attributes from fauna and flora above tree level. Get to know one of the world´s fastest birds, able to reach more than 300km/h when swooping towards the ground and experienced who is the "Bergmandl" and the "Zirbengärtner" the mountains are. The nature documentary „Paradise made of Stone“ shows the breath-taking alpine landscape of the Kalkalpen National Park with its natural beauty and local fauna, as well as the majestic flight of the eagle and fascinating shots of the wallcreeper.

On days with clear visibility you can see 21 mountain peaks from the Panorama Tower. Take the panorama lift to the viewing terrace of the tower.
Starting point for hikes into the Kalkalpen National Park : eg. the theme trail „nature tracks“ leads to the Villa Sonnwend national park lodge.

Anreise How to get there:
A9 Highway - exit Roßleithen - B138 direction Windischgarsten - village center - turn left at the municipal office - parking area cable car. Access to the 858m high Wurbauerkogel by chair lift or on foot along marked walking trails (walking time about 45min, approx 250m of altitude), by car or on bike.
