Drifting Steyrschlucht Canyon

Unlike in rafting, the wildwater action does not take center stage in drifting, but instead the whole nature experience along an untamed river.
Since the last ice age, Steyr has dug itself deeper and deeper into the conglomerate and formed an imposing, barely penetrable canyon. With the help of special boats, it is possible to visit this breathtaking riverscape. Short rapids provide more variety and a refreshing splash or two time and again. Daredevils can even dive into the river from cliffs ranging between 2 and 6 meters in height. At the "Rinnende Mauer" (“Dripping Wall”), a natural spectacle where the water flows directly out of the canyon wall, a riverside picnic will provide the sustenance we need.

PRO-ADVENTURES CAMP St. Pankraz: A9 – Hinterstoder/St. Pankraz exit – on the B138 towards Hinterstoder, directly at the turn-off for Hinterstoder by Gasthof Steyrbrücke.
