Trail-Nr: 463
Walking time: 4 hrs.
Altitude: 1.963 m
Level of difficulty: red – path not too difficult, but long and strenous
The Hohe Nock mountain is the highest peak of the Sengsengebirge mountain range. About 2 km to the west of Windischgarsten a road turns off to the rightat the Teichl bridge in Pießling Roßleithen, leading to the Rettenbach valley.

Trail nr. 463 starts at an old delapidated mill (access by car to this point); up through a forest at first, then over a gravel field and in large serpentines past large trees to a valley basin with mountain pine and dolines. Then the trail continues along the shady side of the Merkensteins to a spring, leading steeper uphills, then through large mountain pine fields crossing to the left to a short but steep part leading to the peak. Most of the climg is situated to the south, so it is best to get an early start.

Return the same way.
