You walk along mainly forest paths, starting from the Nationalpark Hotel Villa Sonnwend, to the Patzlberg mountain, further along the Salzatal valley on top of the Wurbauerkogel mountain – with the „Fire Salamander-Symbol“ as your signpost! Eight stations, most of them are interactive, ensure variety during your hike. Let your fantasy run free with the stone disc game or find out interesting facts at the station “All about Trees”. The “National Park View” offers you the opportunity to observe your surroundings through a telescope and with some luck you might spot some chamoix climbing up a rock wall. The “Wheel of Time” presents you with a view into the past and lets you take part in the formation of the impressive mountain ranges in the Windischgarstner valley.
In front of the Panorama Tower at the Wurbauerkogel mountain, children have the opportunity to check out their climbing skills.
The „Nature-Prints“ Trail is even worth a visit on rainy days, as you might be able to spot the normally night active fire salamanders along the trail – the symbol was chosen because of it.

Trail Nrs 2,3 or 8 are our recommendation to head back to the Villa Sonnwend.
