Starting point is the village of Vorderstoder. About 40 m to the east from the municipal office (direction Windischgarsten) turn right onto a meadow path or continue another 600m along the main road and turn right after the bridge up to the Schafferhof farm and further on to the so called Hammerlgraben. Past the farm Edtbauerngut the trail rises higher and leads through a forest to the alpine tavern Almgasthof Baumschlagerberg (1 hour walking time). Return the same way to Vorderstoder.

If you want to avoid the steeper rise after the Edtbauerngut farm, there is a road leading from aboe the farm to the right, past the farm Eckhartenhof, to the earlier described village path, which takes you to Baumschlagerberg or down into the valley back to Vorderstoder.
