Museum enthusiasts will enjoy a visit to the original Poacher Museum in St Pankraz, relating the hard way of life of by-gone days in the area as well as the romantisized versions of local films. The Alpineum in Hinterstoder brings the fascination of the Alps to your attention – from the development of alpine skiing starting with the first wooden ski up to our modern carvers, the story of the wood choppers and the dangers of “Flötzen” – the transport of wood on the river – are all presented here. Spital am Pyhrn entices with its sweet “ginger bread village” built up in the baroque rooms of the former abbey, where you will also find the Austrian Rock Art Museum.

The Kulturhaus Römerfeld in Windischgarsten is the address for cultural events. The multi-functional event hall houses all kinds of events from classical music to cabarets, jazz, rock & pop or folksmusic. The Pyrhn-Priel Small Art Festival with national and international artists like Roland Düringer, Josef Hader, Gabriel Vetter etc is presented annualy at the “Lentos of the Alps”.

Events like the traditional Lederhosen get-together in Windischgarsten, literature days in Hinterstoder or the Ennstal Classic in Spital am Pyhrn are essential components of the yearly event calender.
